Cambodia PHB Activity Hits Another Milestone with Its Year-Three Work Plan Workshop

A comprehensive, well-developed project work plan requires reflection on both what has been achieved, and what we aim to achieve moving forward. This process led the USAID/Cambodia Promoting Healthy Behaviors (PHB) Activity project team to organize a workshop to gather feedback from relevant stakeholders to create more streamlined structures and to adapt the direction of the PHB project for its 3rd year.

The project workshop was held on July 30, 2020 in Phnom Penh and was attended by representatives from USAID, the donor of the project, the National Centre for Health Promotion, a strategic key partner, and several implementing partners, including 17 Triggers, Pact, Action for Health Development (AHEAD), Partners in Compassion (PC), and Khemara, among other stakeholders.

PHB Senior Manager, Sokhan Ngoun, kicked off the workshop with a presentation on project accomplishments, lessons learned, and areas of improvement. Following the presentation was an overview of past activities by our USAID-funded “sister project,” Enhancing Quality of Health Care Activity (EQHA) and an overview an NCHP’s work plan by NCHP. The meeting participants then convened into focus groups to discuss barriers and explore possible solutions to work together to achieve the set objectives.

NCHP Director, Dr. Chhordaphea, expressed her appreciation for NCHP’s collaboration with PHB in the past year. Dr. Chhordaphea closed her remarks by noting that she looks forward to continuing to work with PHB to help Cambodian people adopt healthy behaviors in the years ahead.
