Changing Diabetes in Children (CDIC), Phase 2

Population Services International (PSI Cambodia) is implementing Changing Diabetes in Children(CDIC) phase 2, a project funded by Novo Nordisk. The overall goal of the project is to improve diabetes care for children with type 1 diabetes and as such help these children and their families live better and healthier lives. Implemented in 2023-2027, the project targets children and adolescents up to 25 years of age.

GEO FOCUS AREAS

All activities take place within established national frameworks and in accordance with priorities laid out by the Ministry of Health in the following city/provinces: Phnom Penh, Kampot, Siem Reap, Prey Veng, Kampong Cham, Battambang, Oddor Meanchey, Pursat, Takeo, Banteay Meanchey and Tbong Khmum.

The project includes a number of components targeted at improving the treatment and self-care of type 1 diabetes in children.

These components are:

  1. Patient education and advocacy
  2. Training of Health Care Providers
  3. Support to refurbish clinics and establish patient registry
  4. Insulin and medical supplies (when necessary)
